A touching letter from one of our young persons

August 5, 2015

We love receiving letters from our young people at the YMCA Reading. Letters from our young people show us how our work is effecting them, how we are assisting and helping them as individuals, to improve their lives and make them feel confident in themselves. Our most current letter is from a young 17 year old girl who has been with us for over a year, she decided to write to us to show us her appreciation.

“The YMCA has helped me so much with my confidence, independence and with my sense of money and the value of money. I haven’t ever been an independent person but since being in here I have grown more independent day by day. I love the help that I receive from the staff working with me in here, without the support I get I don’t know where I’d be. I’m Such a happier person since moving in and the independence I’ve had to have has made me a much stronger, confident person. A massive thanks to my CP Rennie and everyone else who’s helped me along the journey of becoming an adult x”

We wanted to share with you the appreciation that we felt from our young person, we know that our work is effective and it is letters like these that shows us that we our benefiting our community and the work that we do is inspiring and heart-warming.
