We are happy to announce that our ‘in-house’ workshop is now 15 years old! And from its small beginnings now works with over 50 young people every year, all of whom were/are vulnerable or at risk. The workshop works to develop and improve practical skills such as electrical, carpentry, woodwork, plumbing, painting, decorating, motoring mechanics and so forth. The workshop would not have been made possible without the ever so generous help of our many Trusts and foundations who have responded to our appeals over the years. Such help has led to the development and improvement of our workshop to supply tools such as screw drivers drills and even materials to make endless projects, for which we are ever grateful. The chicken pen was made in the workshop by young people using the ‘in house’ tools and equipment provided. We are ecstatic with the results, with great hard work and commitment we have a home for our chickens. We are delighted to home six, pecking chickens whose eggs are in great demand by the community and locals within the surrounding area of YMCA. We hope to expand our pen for an even larger environment for our chickens to enjoy and live together and we even hope to home a few more chickens later this year. Fingers crossed!
